Overview

The HubSpot Product team is made up of over 1200 engineers, designers, product managers, and researchers. We’re passionate about building tools that help small and medium-sized businesses market, sell, and serve their customers — and ultimately, grow better.

Those tools end up in the HubSpot application platform, which itself is made up of thousands of services, workers, and jobs spanning over 170 teams and thousands of repos. Our teams work autonomously to deploy these systems across a common infrastructure, up to 3,000 times a day. As we’ve grown to serve over 130,000 customers in 120 countries, reliability and stability have become just as important as speed and time to market.

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on engineering leader to support our infrastructure orchestration and tooling teams. These teams are responsible for the security, reliability, and performance of the low-level infrastructure that powers our large EC2 fleet. You’ll leverage experience with Kubernetes, Linux internals, and networking to provide the containers, provisioning, orchestration, and stability that our infrastructure and product teams rely on.

What we are looking for:

As an Engineering Lead for this organization, you will lead with HEART. You are a remarkable technologist who supports others through empathy and transparency.

  • You will support 2-4 teams in the Platform as a Service organization as a hands-on contributor (> 50% of the time) on the foundational layers of our infrastructure. You will write software; these are polyglot teams who write Python, Java, Golang, and C/C++.
  • With your technical experience and credibility, you will quickly develop trust and rapport with those around you. You will act not just as a manager but as a role model, ally, and sponsor for the folx you support.
  • Your coaching will help individual contributors grow their careers. Through planning, influence, and effective partnerships you will broaden the charters and impact of these teams.
  • You’ll also work with key stakeholders across the company (security, infrastructure, reliability, etc.) on topics like capacity planning, disaster recovery, and open source software components critical to our infrastructure.
  • The ideal candidate exemplifies HEART and is a player/coach looking to grow into more of a coach/player.

These teams work on a variety of exciting infrastructure topics under a very broad umbrella. Your work will act as a cornerstone that empowers the entire engineering organization.

We offer 100% remote and flex working options. You can review our full list of benefits here.
